Salam all. It has been ages since I’ve written another review on laptops. Check out the New Dell Inspiron 14R laptop guys. This is a middle class entry from Dell which was upgraded from the Inspiron 14 family. Lately, I’ve been eying on few Core i3 laptop which then I turned my selections into writing articles. The New Dell Inspiron 14R is powered by Intel Core i3-350M processor which runs at 2.26GHz, 3M cache and supporting 1333MHz FSB for use with a DDR3 Ram module.
During my surveys on Core i3 laptops, Dell Inspiron 14R really gives me a good vibes because of it’s slim design and power. Although I cant afford to buy a Dell Studio 14, the Inspiron 14R really do resembles the Studio version a little bit. As far as power is concern, this lappy comes with a 2GB DDR3 SDRAM which is adequate enough for everyday use. The graphic processor is powered by Intel’s HD Graphics which is not as powerful compare to the Geforce 310M in Aspire 4741G I talked about the other day. However, you can opt for a customize Inspiron 14R at Dell Online Shop and choose to prefix your Inspiron 14R with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 1GB. The cost would increase up to RM2,449.00 but don’t you find that, its cool to customize your own laptop?

The Dell Inspiron R may come in 14 inches to 17 inches with different specifications and prices, but I’d like to stick with the 14 inches model because it can easily fit into my laptop bag. By the way, the standard color for the Inspiron 14R comes in Obsidian Black and you can also opt for other colors like Peacock Blue, Tomato Red, and Lotus Pink with some additional cost. The palm rest of the laptop has an almost like brushed-metal finish(actually plastic) so it doesn’t really leaves finger-prints and scratches. I also liked the touch-pad for this model because it is slightly bigger than the other Core i3 laptop I have tried. Bigger matte-surface on the touch-pad makes pointing easier on the Inspiron 14R.
The standard hard disk drive for the basic Inspiron 14R is a 320GB Sata 7200RPM HDD. For me, this is adequate enough because I would spend a few extra ringgit to buy an external hard drive for storage because I like to have my data externally and not stuff them all together on 1 single hard-disk. The Inspiron 14R screen is also capable of displaying quality high definition movies with its 14.0″ Widescreen HD WLED Glossy Display with TrueLife technology. The LED-backlit 14.0 inch glossy display has a 1,366×768-pixel native resolution where most 14″ laptop would offer nowadays. Sharp and crisp display of text and colors would make this a much love companion for a blogger.
The “SRS premium sound” label on the lower left-corner of the screen is not only for show, because the Inspiron 14R really delivers great sound quality. I am impressed by the sound quality coming out from the stereo speakers although it is located under the palm rest at the bottom base of the Inspiron 14R. I wouldn’t mind listening to music on a laptop without my headphone on the Dell Inspiron 14R.

Agreed.. I would say Dell and Asus.
Plus Dell’s on site service is the best. Once my friends XPS got broken, while on a course. Dell send their technician over to the hotel where he is staying and change the faulty graphic card onsite, hassle free.

Dell officemate dulu dia punya skrin dah nak tercabut, byk kali dah terhempas tapi boleh guna utk kerja sampai skang.
kalau cukup fulus nak jugak sambar 14R ni satu hehe

@etomyam, aku mmg selalu dpt response positif dari Dell’s customers mcm hang. so, conclusionnya Dell mmg power.
Btw, my opinion is that the Inspiron 14R is not an overprice Core i3 laptop, but just slightly more expensive than other lappy in its range.

Salam ..blh bg pdpt laptop Model Dell yg sesuai dgn harga below RM2500 , bateri thn lama dan ringan ..ada juga search kt internet ..just nk 2nd opinion. Dell bagus dr segi service ..that why klu blh nk upgrade 3yr wrnty. Sy dulu pun almost 10yrs jd senior tech..cum sys administrator kt panasonic ..tp dh 6thn resign ..biasa2 la IT cepat berubah byk yg ttgl..

wasalam, saya belum pernah memiliki dell. Tapi sahabat saya ada yang memiliki Dell XPS model dan amat berpuas hati dengan model tersebut. Malah servis dell memang tip top. Jika anda dalam coverage yang membolehkan Dell baikpulih notebook anda dalam 1hari, mereka akan datang dan siapkan dengan segera. Memang terbaik. Malah brand seperti Asus pun sekarang sedang meningkatkan servis baikpulihnya setaraf Dell.
