Compaq CQ42-102TU Notebook

Compaq CQ42-102TU Notebook

I sold lots of Compaq CQ42-102TU laptops in April. This compaq notebook is a HOT product and sells very well. The CQ42-102TU is the new design notebook from the Compaq CQ42 lineup. I did some minor search looking for this notebook images on the net but I couldn’t find any other website that has it except from HP themselves. Guess I should have taken its pictures way back then.

I did mention about this cheap notebook on my other post on Windows 7. This CQ42-102TU laptop installs Windows 7 in a snap. Complete installation in 10-15minutes only. The CQ42 new design are less to cause finger print all over the notebook surfaces. While retailing at RM1’799, the CQ42-102TU notebook specifications are as follow:

There are some good features on this cheap compaq laptop which is for one, the screen is a High-Definition LED Wide-screen. The display was bright and crisp. Watching movies with the LED High-Def screen will surely bring lots of satisfaction. In addition, this notebook comes with Altec Lansing speakers. The 500GB hard disk drive can store tonnes of downloaded movies.

The Intel Pentium T4500 Processor in this notebook is a dual-core processor. This new processor does support Intel’s Advanced Technologies such as Enhanced Intel® Speedstep Technology. The Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® Technology is an advanced means of enabling very high performance while also meeting the power-conservation needs of mobile systems. Conventional Intel SpeedStep Technology switches both voltage and frequency in tandem between high and low levels in response to processor load. This means that this cheap Compaq notebook use less power consumption while performing at it’s top speed. This also helps the battery to last longer.

The Compaq CQ42 Notebook is best to equip with Microsoft latest operating system(OS). The Microsoft Windows 7 OS technology are best at managing power consumption. I can assure you that anybody who would use this notebook for basic computing will fall in love at its performance. The CQ42-102TU is a worth to buy notebook because of its nice specification and its cheap RM1’799 price tag.

I believe the CQ42-102TU notebook comes with a free HP Care Pack U4817E which extend the warranty period. The U4817E will entitle users a 2nd & 3rd Year Return To HP Service Center Local Extended Warranty for Compaq Presario Notebook. Please check with your local computer shop if this offer still stands. Maybe this is a special offer during PC Fair 2010 craze in Malaysia only.

What do you have to say or share about this cheap Compaq CQ42 laptop?

@konpiuson, Hi. sorry for late reply. i’m at my wife’s hometown now.
HD is high definition, meaning the graphic card is capable of playing hd movies and some games. Yes its a good one but you better get a notebook with an nvidia or ati graphic card if you plan on playing high end games.

    @konpiuson,

Graphics Card is FINE! I can play almost anything I buy… except for Front Mission – Evolved. It plays Civilization 5 and Bioshock just fine!

Regular laptops are for working. If you want a gaming laptop you should get an alienware, desktop, or play games that are a year older than your laptop.

@Alex Wikstrom, Thanks for your added information. Plus, a good advice too. A game 1 year older than your laptop like Crysis should be fine on this CQ42 notebook.

    Alex Wikstrom Reply:

@alson, yes you can… but you have to slipstream sata drivers into the install. The drivers are on the website (love compaq for that!) for xp. The trick is getting the installation software to recognize the hard drive.

How to slipstream sata drivers into xp installation (need computer with a disk burner and a burnable disk)

Sorry I don’t know how to add links… you will have to copy and paste my http address above into the address bar.

    Alex Wikstrom Reply:

    nevermind… the address automatically links

    Anwar Osman Reply:

@alson, here is the link to XP sata driver for CQ42.
You can extract the .exe file to get the ahci files an do a slipstream into an XP CD.

I’ve always had compaq laptops for personal use vs. Dells for my work. I like the compaq better because of higher performance.
