Acer Aspire 4741G
Acer notebook test. It was only in April 2010 that I found an i3-330M notebook from Acer that I thought was cheap. Now Acer releases another i3-330M cheap laptop with a cheap price tag of RM2299.00. The Acer Aspire 4741G-332G50Mn is a cheap i3-330M acer notebook that comes with pre-installed software and the operating system is Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. The design of this notebook is still the same as the Aspire 4740G family. The Aspire 4741 is a cool-looking notebook with practicallity in mind. It is available in black or silver color. Aspire 4741 unique mesh-patterned exterior looks great and protects against smudges and scratches.
Acer provide a Full-size Acer FineTip keyboard with large keys for comfortable typing on the Aspire 4741G. The multi-gesture touchpad does help to scroll, pinch, rotate and flip through web pages, files and images easily. With a 14″ High-Definition Acer CineCrystal™ LED-backlit TFT LCD Widescreen, the Aspire 4741G Acer notebooks boasts ample screen space for multitasking as well as fun. Aspire 4741 performs with a cinematic 16:9 aspect ratio and 8 ms response present sharp, bright visuals on the Acer CineCrystal™ LED-backlit LCD display. What’s more, a Blu-ray Disc™ drive (optional) showcases the ultimate in high-definition audio-visual quality for amazing movies. Equipped with NVIDIA® GeForce® 310M 512MB this notebook has a pretty good built for some high quality gaming experience.
The i3-330M Intel Core Processor is a dual core processor which runs at 2.13GHz with 1066MHz FSB. This processor from Intel does support Intel’s technologies such as Intel® 64 architecture and Intel® Smart Cache. The Aspire 4741G uses the Mobile Intel® HM55 Express Chipset. The 2GB DDR3 1066 MHz memory can be upgraded to 8GB using two soDIMM modules. A 500GB sata hdd is like the minimum hard disk drive used on many i3 notebooks these days. There are plenty of room to store your downloaded movies.

Acer Aspire 4741G dimensions are 342 (W) x 245 (D) x 25.5/31.9 (H) mm (13.5x 9.6 x 1.00/1.26 inches) The sturdiness of the 4741G only weighing at 2.2 kg (4.85 lbs.) with the 6-cell lithium-ion acer battery pack equipped. Not too heavy for a full equipped notebook on the go, right?
I did notebook test on the Acer Aspire 4741G for few hours and I am satisfied with its performance. The Windows 7 index rating score on this notebook comes with a result of 5.0/7.9, which is pretty good. The 4741G rating shows that this acer notebook is a well balance full featured notebook with a low price tag. Selling at RM2 229.00 I believe that the Aspire 4741G has what it takes do everything.

does it comes with built in bluetooth device? because i bought the same version notebook and yet it has no bluetooth device although it is stated at the packaging box.

@Johari, The 9800GT is actually a re-branded edition of 8800GT and Clock Speed Core is at 500Mhz. The 310M clock speed is at 625MHz, seems higher rite? However 9800GT is a 256bit in bus speed where 310M is only a 64bit in bus speed. Here the 9800GT shines over the 310M. If you are comparing the 9800GT a desktop graphic card to a built-in mobile graphic card, its not fair. Of course la the 9800GT is superior. Notebook is for mobility, if you want a gaming notebook, then you need to add another RM1k to your budget at least.

@AnwarOsman, Yeah I was comparing to a desktop graphic card. lol. Actually i was planning to get a laptop at PC Fair but my dad couldn’t wait longer. I told him that we could get stuff cheaper there.

saya baru beli Acer Aspire 4741G Intel Core i5-450M bulan lepas. Saya memang teruja dengan laptop ini tapi satu yg saya kurang puas hati ialah kerana webcamnya tidak berapa terang. Kalau saya buat video conference menggunakan skype atau YM, gambarnya gelap sikit tidak seperti webcam biasa. Saya cuba external webcam lain dan hasilnya cukup bagus. Bagaimana saya nak perbaiki keadaan ini?

can i know is the 4741g i3 support synaptics device (touchpad) and scrybe application ? because i had install d and i can’t use the multi gesture beside that i can only use ALPS gesture which is i not happy with it. another question is there any other ways to always can solve my device up to date because the acer website seem only provide i5 device update but not any i3.

Saya nasihatkan saudara bawak notebook tu ke kedai yang saudara beli untuk check up. Biasanya, kalau guna windows 7 yang pre-installed, webcam tu automatic boleh guna selepas install YM atau MSN messenger.
Berkenaan simbol x sama dengan butang keyboard. Ada 2 kemungkinan, setting keyboard type bukan jenis Standard 101/102. Boleh check kat My Computer > Properties dan cari Devive Manager. Kemungkinan kedua ada litar pintas pada keyboard(pernah tumpah air/aiskrim).
Ada beberapa lagi kemungkinan yang pelik seperti ada sampah bawah butang keyboard(beras, kertas, manik dan lain2) tapi saya x rasa ini masalah Syuk, notebook baru beli jarang ada masalah sampah. Semoga dpt selesaikan masalah 4741g anda. Good luck.

Im not quite happy with the touchpad as well. I figure its the material used. too smooth surfaced makes the cursor pretty slippery n not so easy to control. The Acer team should take note n maybe try to improvise on the material used for their upcoming products

Wasalam, webcam biasanya standard je. kalau driver semua dah siap install, guna MSN messenger, YIM, or Skype dah terus boleh guna.
Bab “gigibiru” untuk model 4750z nie saya kurang pasti plak sebab saya belum penah guna lagi. Tapi cuba tgk dekat notebook samada ada butang berlogo bluetooth untuk ditekan. Atau boleh cuba tekan Fn+F3. Semoga berjaya.
